Install Aurora Lyrics.

A free extension for Chrome on desktop. It adds synced lyrics to the Lyrics tab on YouTube Music, and the add-ons are optional.

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store listing for Aurora Lyrics.
  2. Choose Add to Chrome, then Add extension in the prompt.
  3. Reload music.youtube.com if the tab was already open.
  4. Open the Lyrics tab beside the queue. The words follow the track.

Chrome installs the current build from the listing. If something is stuck, ask in the Discord or open an issue.

If it does not work.

The panel does not appear after install.

Reload YouTube Music. The extension starts with the page, so a tab that was already open will not see it until it reloads.

The panel is empty after an update.

Reload the YouTube Music tab. If it stays empty, check that the extension is still enabled in Chrome.

No lyrics for a track.

Not every track has a sync. The panel can search LRCLIB when the automatic lookup misses. Some tracks only have plain lyrics, which appear without word timing.

It feels slow on an older GPU.

Turn off Aurora Bloom in the add-ons panel, or switch off its Kawarp backdrop. The full-page backdrop is the heaviest part of the extension.

What does it send?
